Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it.
~ William Arthur Ward
November is here, which always makes me think about Thanksgiving (I know you Canadians are way ahead of us Americans). It’s always struck me as odd that we take all the gratitude of life and pack it into one day.
We can do better than that.
I’m officially declaring November Gratitude Awareness Month, and ARphotoaday is following suit. Here’s how you can play along:
- Notice something you’re grateful for in the world
- Take a photo of that something or someone
- Post the photo on Instagram or Twitter with the hashtags #arphotoaday + #gratitude
- Do this as many times as you can this month
Do’s and Don’ts
- Do post things you’re grateful for
- Do let this be a fun exercise in humanity
- Do share it with a friend if you’re having fun
- Do go in search of things and people that make you smile
- Don’t worry about posting too many photos
- Don’t worry about posting too few photos
- Don’t worry, be happy
That’s pretty much it, but in case you’re still struggling with the concept, here’s a look at the prompts for November #ARphotoaday:
