Let (Self) Love Be In The Air

“The most terrifying thing is to accept oneself completely.”
~ C.G. Jung

On this Valentine’s Day I wish you acceptance with no conditions and love with no boundaries; I wish the source of this acceptance and love to be inside your own heart.

I ask of you on this beautiful Valentine’s Day to love and accept yourself, just the way you are. Don’t let anyone else’s love for you, or lack thereof, determine how you feel about yourself today. If you want to change anything, change your actions. But you, you’re amazing just the way you are. Remember?

And now, I leave you with these words of wisdom from Tina Fey:

“Do your thing and don’t care if they like it.”
~ Tina Fey, Bossypants

Happy Valentine’s Day, everyone!

Love that Jung quote, and also the Tina Fey version of it! xoxo

I remembered highlighting that quote in Bossypants when I read it a couple years ago. The hard part of doing your own thing is not caring what others think, especially when you’re young. It’s easy to forget (or not learn at all) that it’s about who we are on the inside, and showing that person to the outside world. Scary, but oh so amazing.

Dian, I NEVER saw that Jung quote before — can’t believe I missed it. I think it’s the best quote ever!! Love this post – thank you for the reminder!

Haha, it’s a great quote, isn’t it?! I think one could begin a hundred blogs with that quote and each of them would turn out differently. But then, that’s the power of Jung’s words, no? Always so much room for reflection.
